Scott Pasour, my dear friend and fellow laborer in Christ was killed Saturday, July 16th on a motorcycle ride near Asheville.
From the day I began leading this ministry Scott locked arms with me and joyfully sacrificed to lead this church to be a movement to change the world with the Gospel. He was among the first “lay” pastors that we ordained for ministry in 2003. His leadership has been everything I could ever ask for and his brotherhood and friendship even greater. God has used him to touch many people in this body and he will be deeply, deeply missed.
I recently re-tweeted a quote on my twitter account that said this, “Death dismays me but my great high priest stands in its waters, and will open me a passage and beyond is a better country.” We know this to be true of our brother in Christ.
Please be in prayer for his wife Tammy, his daughter Kelly and her family, and his son Wes and his family. I hope to see you in worship tomorrow as we worship The One who has conquered the grave.
We will provide details about arrangements when they are available.
Kevin Ellis wrote a beautiful tribute to Scott’s life for the Gaston Gazette.
