God Wants Me to Give

Hebrews 13:16

In contrast to the daily required Old Covenant animal sacrifices, etc. in the Tabernacle/Temple that God declared as expectations from His people, the New Covenant now identifies the proper and expected response by God’s people to His Glory and Salvation is the proclamation of His Gospel to those in the church and those far from God AS WELL AS the practical, visible, and tangible giving of ourselves to others. This does not earn our salvation but it is absolutely what God expects His children to do.

Continue the good that Christ has and is doing for you by sacrificially giving your time and talents to bless others! (13:6a)

Give money! (13:16b)

Challenge: How are you using your time, abilities and money to put a smile on God’s face? How are you serving people in the local church? How are you using your finances to financially support the local church? How are you using your time, abilities and money to bless and serve those who are far from God that you do life?

Grow Up!

Hebrews 13:7-9

God expects us to grow up which means being committed to be taught by teachers who can be trusted and being committed to learning on our own. This all points to the need of commitment and effort by us at an individual level. So, how much effort are you giving to grow up?
