Venture Church partners with Carr Elementary School to ensure students have everything they need to excel in the classroom. This year, we’re collecting books and backpacks for elementary school students in Dallas, NC.

Carr Elementary Book Drive

The school needs a lot of books for reading levels Kindergarten through 5th grade. Please bring your new or gently-used books to The Hub on Sunday mornings by August 18th, 2019. There’s a collection basket in the lobby.

Carr Elementary is a Title 1 school located in Dallas, NC. The Title 1 designation provides additional resources to schools in areas of economic need. Learn more at the school’s website.

Backpacks for Hearing Impaired Students

Also, North Carolina Hands and Voices is in need of backpacks for elementary aged students for the NC Schools for the Deaf in Morganton and Wilson, NC. You can help by purchasing a new, elementary student-sized backpack. Drop the backpack off at The Hub by August 18th.

Venture is working with Hands and Voices of North Carolina on this initiative. They support families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) without a bias around communication modes or methodology.

Hands and Voices is a parent-driven, non-profit organization providing families with the resources, networks, and information they need to improve communication access and educational outcomes for their children. Their outreach activities, parent/professional collaboration, and advocacy efforts are focused on enabling DHH children to reach their highest potential.
