Student Pastor

Serving as the Student Pastor at Venture’s Dallas Campus is an exciting opportunity to lead more than 100 High School and Middle School students to turn the world right side up with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Before applying, we strongly encourage you to make sure you align with us doctrinally and philosophically. You can view our essential doctrines here. Our Mission, Vision, Values, and Core Ministry Objectives are below. Before applying, please read them carefully and prayerfully consider whether it's the right fit for you.

Venture is a growing multisite church seeking to reach the counties on the western side of the Charlotte metro region and people groups around the world who have no access to the Gospel. We currently have two locations: Dallas, NC, and Lincolnton, NC. Our approach to ministry is simple. We offer numerous worship gatherings that use modern worship music and expository preaching to teach and inspire people to know and follow Jesus, and we do groups. VSM (Venture Student Ministry) uses the same approach.

We also deeply value serving our community, which is why we donate the use of our Dallas Campus building (The Hub) to the Boys and Girls Club of America throughout the week. Over 100 elementary students participate in our after-school program.

Finally, it's important to know that our approach to ministry leadership is centered in groups. Serving on Venture’s staff means being part of a family, a group that encourages one another in our walk with Christ as we serve together in ministry. In the same way, Venture’s staff lead groups that are passionate about serving together in the ministry area overseen by that staff member. Therefore, Venture’s Student Pastor is ultimately responsible for shepherding groups that want to labor together with him to spiritually shepherd the High School and Middle School students at Venture and equip them to reach the thousands of students in our region who don’t know Jesus!

Charlotte, NC, is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan regions in the country for a reason … it's an awesome place to live! The mountains and the recreational activities they offer are just a little over an hour away, and you can reach the beach in just a little over three hours. Uptown Charlotte is home to an NFL team, an NBA team, and an MLS team. NASCAR is based in Charlotte, with numerous race teams located near one of NASCAR’s premier tracks, just a few minutes north of Charlotte in Concord, NC. The U.S. Whitewater Center is 20 minutes from our Dallas Campus, and Carowinds Theme Park is just 30 minutes away. Finally, with American Airlines using Charlotte-Douglas Airport as one of its main hubs, you can fly direct to over 180 destinations and over 900 via connections and other airlines.

Meanwhile, amid the hustle and bustle of a large city, Gaston County, where Dallas, NC, is located, slows down a bit. The public school system is great, and there are also charter and private schools, like Gaston Christian, that parents can choose for their children with the help of North Carolina’s Opportunity Scholarship. Places to fish, boat, hike, mountain bike, shop, eat, catch a movie, attend a local festival, work out, and sign kids up for youth sports are abundant, all with less traffic than living in the middle of Charlotte! Housing and the overall cost of living are lower as well, which is why so many young families are moving into our region.

If you would like to apply, please do so by filling out our online application by June 3, 2026. The application requires you to upload your resume and a brief statement of your personal testimony.
