Life Groups at Venture Church
“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” Ephesians 4:15-16
We believe one of the most important aspects of the Body of Christ is community. But it’s hard to get to know people in the hustle and bustle of Sunday mornings. That’s what Life Groups are all about.
Find a Life Group
What are Life Groups?
Small groups of people who meet regularly together outside of our Sunday morning worship times. They are an opportunity to make friends, study the Bible and serve the local community together. Life groups meet in homes, businesses, coffee shops… or wherever people can get together.
Who can be a part of a Life Group?
Anyone who wants to explore faith in Christ is welcome, wherever you are on that journey. Venture membership is not required, although our partners are expected to plug in. Diversity is encouraged in race, age, interests, and maturity in the Christian faith.
Who can lead a Life Group?
Groups are led by Venture partners who are mature, growing in their faith, and feel called to lead a small group of people in a journey of discipleship. They serve under the authority of Venture’s pastoral staff. Our Associate Pastor of Life Groups & Church Partnership oversees and equips the leaders to be effective at their jobs. Leaders undergo a 6-week training to prepare for service.
When do they meet?
Venture groups meet at various times and locations throughout the week. Many meet on Sunday afternoons, but the time and place are decided by the group members. Ideally, life groups will meet every week for 4 weeks, then take time for service projects, date nights, or other fun activities they can do together. This helps build community within the group and reach out to the community outside the group.
- Home Life Groups – Various groups meet during the week for Bible Study, Accountability, Discipleship and Fellowship.
- Sunday Morning Classes – Sunday AM groups are mostly topical driven classes. Watch our Facebook page for class times or talk to Jonathan Pugh in our next steps room.
- Student Groups – Middle and high school students meet Wednesday nights at the The Hub (800 E. Main St., Dallas). This casual environment allows students hear the Gospel, learn to be a disciple of Christ and build lasting relationships.
