What an incredible summer this has been at Venture Church! As we reflect on the past few weeks, it’s impossible not to be in awe of the amazing things the Lord has done in our community. From joyous gatherings to life-changing spiritual moments, we’ve seen God’s hand at work in powerful ways.
We kicked off the summer with two Super Saturdays, which were a delightful time for families with 3-5-year-olds. These Saturdays allowed families to come together, hear about Jesus, play games, and enjoy tasty snacks. It was heartwarming to see families connect and share in the joy of faith and fellowship. The laughter of the children and the smiles on the parents’ faces were a testament to the joy that comes from simply being together in God’s presence.
Our children’s ministry also thrived with the Summer Bible Club. Every Thursday and Tuesday, kids gathered to explore different Bible studies tailored to their age groups, diving deeper into God’s Word. It was amazing to witness the eagerness of our children to learn more about Jesus and grow in their love for Him. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it was clear that God was planting seeds of faith in young hearts.
We also extended our reach by including our Boys and Girls Club kids in a special Bible study just for them. This was an impactful time when these children could engage with Scripture, ask questions, and grow in their understanding of God’s love. The impact of these Bible studies was profound, as we saw children from all backgrounds grow closer to God and each other.
One of the biggest highlights of the summer was our Vacation Bible School (VBS), themed BREAKER ROCK BEACH. Throughout the week, kids learned from Romans 12:2, discovering that God’s truth never changes, even in a world where everyone seems to have their definition of it. It was a transformative week where children not only strengthened their relationships with God but some even began their journey of faith for the first time. LIVES WERE CHANGED, and we rejoice in the work God did during this incredible week!
Another exciting program was our Kids Summer Rhythm & Choir, which provided a wonderful opportunity for children to explore their musical talents. Every Wednesday, from 10-12, kids gathered to learn songs, practice bucket drumming, and prepare for their big performance at the end of the summer. This program was a fantastic way to involve the Boys and Girls Club and grow that community. It was a joy to see the kids shine in their talents and form lasting friendships along the way. Their final performance was a celebration of their hard work, and it was clear that they had grown both musically and spiritually over the summer.
We had the joy of welcoming our new sixth graders into the youth group! The night was filled with excitement and energy as they joined in, but it was also a bittersweet moment as we said goodbye to our graduating seniors. The VSM Lock-In, always a favorite event, was the final hurrah for our seniors—a night full of fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. These seniors have been exceptional role models, leaving a lasting legacy in our youth group. While we’ll miss them dearly, we are confident that God has incredible plans for them as they move forward.
The Summer Splash Spectacular in Lincolnton was another event that brought our community together in a big way. The impact of this event was truly remarkable, as families and individuals from all over came together to enjoy a day of fun, food, and fellowship. The turnout was fantastic, and the joy it brought to everyone involved was unmatched. Great memories were made, and the sense of community that was fostered that day was a beautiful reflection of God’s love in action.
And finally, we’ve been blessed with a season of baptisms that has filled our hearts with joy. It seems like every Sunday, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing people boldly proclaim their love for Jesus and their commitment to follow Him. Baptism is such a powerful testimony to the work God is doing in our church, and we do not take it lightly. Each baptism has been a reminder of God’s grace and the transformative power of the Gospel. We thank God for every life that has been changed, and we celebrate with those who have taken this important step in their faith journey.
Venture Church is incredibly blessed by the dedicated staff and volunteers who make events like these possible. Their commitment to serving, both physically and through prayer, is what allows us to continue reaching out and making a difference in our community. We couldn’t do it without them, and we are so grateful for their hard work and dedication.
We also want to express our deep gratitude to everyone who faithfully gives to the church. Your generosity enables us to pour into our church body and the surrounding communities, living out our mission “To engage those far from God with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to know and follow Him.” Your tithing is a vital part of our ministry, and we thank you for your continued support.
This summer has been a true embodiment of our church’s motto, “Don’t just attend church, be the Church.” Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey with us. We look forward to seeing how God will continue to move in and through Venture Church in the months to come. Let’s keep being the Church and sharing the love of Christ with those around us!
